Larkmead is a truly historic vineyard, dating back to the 1880s, and has been owned by members of the Solari family since 1948. One of the very finest vineyards in Napa Valley, Larkmead's 120 acres are primarily planted to Cabernet but also Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc and a small block of 100 year-old Tocai Friulano vines. In addition to crafting its own 100% Napa Valley Estate wines, Larkmead also grows and sells top quality fruit to select premium Napa Valley wineries. Larkmead's Estate Cabernet,'Firebelle' Merlot Blend, LMV Salon Bordeaux Blend, Solari Reserve Cabernet and other wines are made by the talented winemaker, Andy Smith. In May 2006, Larkmead Vineyards opened a small winery and tasting room on Larkmead Lane which is open to visitors by appointment.
